New way to take a break
When the call came to help people in the Gulf Coast, whose lives were ravaged last summer by hurricanes, college students answered. Many around the country have chosen to donate their Christmas, summer and spring breaks to volunteer in some of the hardest-hit areas. Their efforts are part of a growing movement called "alternative breaks."
