Health care panel first in 2013-14 series

(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Aug. 23, 2013) A hospital CEO, a medical director and an insurance company president will discuss what’s on the horizon for health care at the first event in the California Lutheran University 2012-2013 Corporate Leaders Breakfast Series.

The breakfast and panel discussion on “The Future of Health Care” will be held from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley.

The panelists will be Greg Angle, president and CEO of Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center; Dr. Matteo Dinolfo, medical director of the University of California, Los Angeles, Department of Medicine Community Offices; and Steven J. Sell, president of Health Net’s Western Regional Health Plan. Jim Rondeau, director of operations and programming for National Public Radio station KCLU, will moderate.

Angle, who took the helm of Los Robles Hospital in 2009, has more than 25 years of healthcare management experience. He has served as CEO of investor-owned and not-for-profit health systems, and in various executive leadership positions at hospitals throughout the Southwest.

Dinolfo is responsible for the expansion of UCLA Health in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. UCLA Health includes practices in Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and Porter Ranch, with offices in Calabasas and Santa Clarita scheduled to open in 2014. Expansion in the South Bay is also planned for 2014.

Sell oversees $6 billion in commercial business covering 1.3 million members in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington for Health Net. He is also responsible for the company’s enterprise-wide marketing function and is president of Health Net of California, the company’s largest subsidiary.

The Corporate Leaders Breakfast Series brings members of the business and civic communities together to share ideas and hear from prominent leaders in the region. The series will continue with presentations by Kristin Decas, executive director of the Port of Hueneme, on Nov. 5 at the Ventura Beach Marriott; Lynda Weinman, cofounder of Lynda.com, on Jan. 23 at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara; Cynthia Ruiz, deputy executive director of external relations for The Port of Los Angeles, on March 4 at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills; and Rhapsody International President Jon Irwin, on May 6 at CLU.
