RENO, Nev. –Just six weeks removed from his Cal Lutheran graduation, Mikey McGinn continued his golfing career as a professional at the ArrowCreek Open as part of the eGolf Professional Tour where he earned his first tour cut during his second event.

The inaugural tournament took place at the ArrowCreek Country Club in Reno, Nevada between July 1-3 and featured players from all around the world.

The first 18 holes saw McGinn shoot two-under par. Battling 25-mile-per-hour winds on the second day of competition, he managed to shoot an even par-72 for a two-day total of 142. His two-under total earned him a spot in the third and final round of action.

Playing on the Legends Course, which was designed by Arnold Palmer and features panoramic views of both the mountains and downtown Reno, McGinn shot an even par over the first nine holes before coming back in two less strokes to complete the 7,112 yard course in 70 swings for the second time in three days.

Overall he used a four-under total (212) to secure the 25th spot, for his first Top-25 finish and prize money, in a field of 106 golfers.

After the event he shared, “This was a great week for me and gave me a lot of confidence in my game,” he went on, “I know I can compete at the professional level and I proved that this week.” McGinn concluded, “I am very happy with the way I played but, at the same time, I know I left a lot of shots out there and have plenty of room to improve.”

With his professional career just getting started, McGinn is excited to continue competing on the links.
