Michael Falcone will sing, play the piano and perform comedy.
(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Sept. 21, 2012) California Lutheran University alumnus Michael Falcone will perform original songs from his new album at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.
The CD release concert will be held in Samuelson Chapel on the Thousand Oaks campus.
Falcone will sing and play the piano while performing his original music and random comedy. Most of the songs on the program are from his first album, “All This Because of You,” which was inspired by his wife, Carla, and family, friends and mentors. The album will be released the day of the concert and available for purchase at the show.
A versatile performer, Falcone is equally at home in a variety of musical styles from jazz to classical, blues to rock, pop to swing, and all things Latin. The Newbury Park resident began playing the piano and singing at the age of 6. At CLU, he performed with the Kingsmen Quartet, jazz band and choir, acted in drama productions and played soccer. He graduated in 2006 with a major in business administration and a minor in music.
Joining him in concert will be Danny Young on bass, Manon Franklin on drums, Scott Roewe on saxophone, Dino Durand on guitar, Juan Leguizamon on percussion and special guest performers Lisa Wall-Urgero and Eddie “The Spoon Man” Terry.
Terry is an 85-year-old entertainer who has been playing spoons for 78 years and has been performing with Falcone since their first meeting five years ago. He has appeared with the Horace Heidt Orchestra, won first prize on “The Ted Mack Amateur Hour” and has the distinction of having appeared on “The Gong Show” without getting gonged.
Samuelson Chapel is located south of Olsen Road near Campus Drive.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online at www.michaelfalconemusic.com or at the door starting at 7 p.m. Children 12 and under are free.
