Edison International CEO to kick off series

(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Aug. 18, 2014) The president and CEO of Edison International will discuss “Our Energy Future” at the first event in the California Lutheran University 2014-2015 Corporate Leaders Breakfast Series.

The event featuring Theodore F. Craver Jr., who also serves as chairman of Edison International, will run from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley.

The subsidiaries of Rosemead-based Edison International generate and distribute electric power and invest in energy services and technologies. Serving in his current positions since 2008, Craver has overseen the implementation of initiatives on energy efficiency and renewable power generation. Edison International has operating revenue of $12.6 billion and more than 14,000 employees. It is the parent company of Southern California Edison, which serves more than 14 million people as one of the nation’s largest electric utilities.

Craver joined Edison International as executive vice president in 1996 and later held the positions of chief financial officer and treasurer. He was chairman, president and CEO of Edison Mission Group for three years starting in 2005. Craver is on the board and serves as chairman of the Edison Electric Institute, and is on the board of the Electric Power Research Institute.

The Corporate Leaders Breakfast Series brings members of the business and civic communities together to share ideas and hear from prominent leaders in the region. The series will continue with a panel discussion on “Water Resources in Crisis” on Nov. 4 at the Ventura Beach Marriott; a presentation on “Health Care in the Region” by Ron Werft, president and CEO of Cottage Health System, on Jan. 23 at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara; a talk on “Leading a Successful Nonprofit” by Thomas Vozzo, CEO of Homeboy Industries, on March 3 at the Sheraton Agoura Hills; and a panel discussion on “The Future of Online Business” on May 5 at Cal Lutheran.
