CLU strings performance slated May 6

(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - April 16, 2012) California Lutheran University string students and faculty will perform two monumental works at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, in Samuelson Chapel.

"CLU Strings" will feature Mendelssohn's Octet and Marcello's Oboe Concerto. Featured oboist Sarah Ashley is a senior music major from Ventura.

The string ensemble is under the direction of violinist Melissa Phelps and cellist Joyce Geeting of the CLU faculty. The CLU Chamber Orchestra, conducted by faculty member Daniel Geeting, will accompany the Marcello concerto.
