No registration is necessary, but please plan to arrive on time and stay for the duration of the class out of respect for our professors and students.

Material Culture

Description

Featuring work in a wide range of media, this exhibition highlights artists who work with cloth, with particular interest in issues that relate to women and minorities.

Founders Day Convocation

Description

This year, Founder's Day Convocation focuses on Living Out our Mission, Sent into the World.  The program includes installation of the Board of Regents, guest preacher Jeff Johnson '84, a performance by the University Choir and honoring this year's Christus and Outstanding Young Alumni Award winners.

Campus Tour

Description

Picnic in the Park

Description

Students and families are invited to join Student Life for a Picnic in the Park! Come out to Kingsmen Park and enjoy dinner, prizes, games and fun for the whole family. This event is free.

Description

The Student Union will be open from 7pm-9pm for parents and families to grab a sweet treat and mingle in the new Student Union Building

Barbara Collins Arboretum Self-Guided Tour

Description

We invite you to tour the Barbara Collins Arboretum! This project is a joint effort by Dr. Collins, who selected and classified the flora identified on the maps, and the University to provide visitors an opportunity to learn about botany and enjoy the meditative beauty of our campus.

Pancakes with the President

Description

Enjoy a delicious breakfast with members of the Cal Lutheran community including President Kimball and the Board of Regents.  Whether you're participating in the Loop da Lu or just cheering on the sidelines, this is a great way to start your day!

$7 for adults, $3 for kids 12 and under, Cash Only; Loop da Lu participants eat free.

Homecoming Zumba!

Description

Kick off the Homecoming festivities with an energizing Zumba party taught by alumna Stacy Gross '10! Open to all students, staff, alumni and guests! Exercise clothing, non-grip tennis shoes and water recommended.

 

 

Dance Party Reunion

Description

Alumni, current students and families are invited to attend a Halloween/October Fest themed Dance Party Reunion prior to the Homecoming football game!  Former Ballroom, Swing, Line Dance and Folk and Square Dance students may remember dances they learned at Cal Lutheran which can be performed to "Thriller," "Adam's Family," "Ghostbusters," "Purple People Eater," "The Blob," and more.  However, any dance style which fits the music is welcomed. We will also feature a family style "Patty Cake Polka" mixer and a "Kid's Corner" area for the small fry to "bust a move"!

Thrill the World Thousand Oaks 2016

12:00pm – 4:00pm at Swenson Center

Description

Join Cal Lutheran Theater Arts in a dance party that honors Michael Jackson and raises charitable funds. Dress as zombies and perform the Thriller dance synchronized with other Thrill the World events throughout the world. The fun begins at noon and includes on-site instruction, zombie makeup, refreshments with a small donation, and fun for the kids!

Class Reunions

2:30pm – 7:00pm at Kingsmen Park

Description

Show your Cal Lutheran spirit and meet up with your graduating class! Gather at the Homecoming Festival an hour before it opens to the public at 2:30pm to reconnect with your classmates. Admission to the festival is $15 per adult and kids 12 and under are free.

3:30pm at Kingsmen Park

Description

Perfect for the young and young-at-heart, our Festival offers fun for all ages. Choose from bounce houses, good eats, spirits, and live music – all included for $15 per adult and $5 for undergraduate students, CASH ONLY. Kids 12 and under are free. 

Good eats will include all beef hot dogs, bratwurst, veggie dogs with veggie chili, street tacos (chicken, steak, or carnitas), chips & salsa, grilled vegetable kabobs, macaroni & cheese, kettle corn, Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, lemonade, water, spirits (2 drink tickets for 21 and older).

*Please note children ages 2- 20 will NOT be permitted in the beer garden. Children under 2 years of age must be carried in the beer garden at all times.*

Homecoming Carnival

Stop by for all the fun - live performances, rides, activities, and food! Admission is free for students and family. Food is free for Cal Lutheran Students (with ID) and food tickets are available for purchase (cash only) for friends, family, and alumni. We will see you there!

Description

Need a break from Homecoming and Family events?  The new Student Union Building will be open all day Saturday!  Take a self-guided tour of the new facility, watch a movie in the lounge and enjoy some shuffle board or fooseball. There will also be X-Box and Wii games available to play!

Description

Worship provides an opportunity for the community to gather and experience the bandwidth of God's grace. While worship unites us in one place and one time it serves as the reminder that God's people are gathered far and wide, just like the Cal Lutheran family. Do you know that money gets tight for some of our students? A portion of the offering at this worship will be given to the student food pantry, please give generously.
