Letter to CLU Community
Dear CLU Community Member,
Choosing a postsecondary institution is a major decision for all involved. Along with academic, financial and geographic considerations, the issue of campus safety is a vital concern to prospective students, students, parents, campus staff, and faculty. We are fortunate to have a campus located in Thousand Oaks, one of the safest communities in the United States according to the most recent FBI crime statistics.
To further the safety and security of our campus, CLU has its own internal safety and security staff that provides 24 hour coverage, 7 days a week; 24 hour internal monitored 3911 emergency number; and a close relationship with the City of Thousand Oaks Police Department and Fire Department, both of which have stations within a short distance from the campus. Campus Public Safety offers a number of services to its students to assist their social and educational endeavors they may learn about by visiting us in the Welcome Center on campus.
At California Lutheran University we are committed to creating an environment where students can flourish in their academic pursuits. Our goal is to provide a level of safety that parents, students and employees expect. This does not happen by accident, but rather through partnerships developed with stakeholders throughout the campus community. If you have any questions regarding campus security policies or compliance issues, please contact Campus Public Safety at (805) 493-3208 or feel free to contact me directly.
