"In January of 2001, a large company I had served for 12 years as a CFO and eventually as its CEO, decided to relocate to Ohio and I chose not to relocate. After having been in the corporate world for 30 years I was looking for something different. It was the time for a career change and it began with the pursuit of an MBA in Financial Planning at CLU. I chose CLU over Pepperdine because it offered me the opportunity to experience the world of academia, as a graduate assistant, while I was completing my master's degree.
After completing the program (I was part of the first graduating class) I went on to pass the CFP Board Certification exam on the first attempt. CLU invited me to teach in the MBA/FP program which I gladly accepted. Finally, the staff at CLU was very supportive as I seized an opportunity to teach full time at another college in the area while I continue to teach at CLU.
I was very pleased with my experience at CLU and the ongoing support I receive from professors I met there as a student and who have now become my colleagues."
