What our students are saying...

"The value of an MBA goes beyond the ability to recite facts. The ability to collaborate effectively is the most important skill needed by MBA's. I am so pleased to see the quality of students in this program. Everyone seems to bring great experience and insight to the classes.
The Wimba rooms are used by most professors as a place to meet once or twice a week. This is the lecture time we appreciate having at CLU. At the end of class though, when the professor asks, ‘Any questions?’ we are mostly silent. Sometimes a student will ask about a specific homework or quiz problem, but generally we seem to want to tough it out.
I got my bachelors degree long before the time of online campuses. I always joined a study group for all classes. I give those groups full credit for getting me through my degree program. Obviously we are all too spread out to meet at the library, so Wimba has turned into the next best thing.
By having a scheduled time to meet on Wimba with my classmates, I give myself a goal to read or complete an assignment so that I can get the most out of our meetings. This false due date is prior to the real due date, so I have less stress of trying to meet the actual class deadlines.
Meeting in the Wimba room is free – no cell phone charges or long distance charges. We can email while talking, sometimes helping each other through computations.
Questions are answered and discussed immediately. Discussion boards and email are great, but sometimes talking back and forth is really helpful in getting a concept or a computation to be firmly understood.
The same people do not always attend each Wimba meeting, and all the differing points of view are helpful. Often, the answer I was so sure of turns out to be wrong. Working through the problem with my peers is invaluable in this regard.
Wimba offers a nice addition to the time I spend sitting in my kitchen at the computer. It is nice to have other human contact in this program. In the past some of us have stayed online after class to go over some of the concepts presented in the lecture. Other times we meet during the week to touch base on the weekly assignments.
My biggest regret has been not starting earlier in the term, so this term I will offer to organize meetings in the first week or so. I will try to learn more about the Wimba capabilities to use it more productively. I'm really glad to have such a great tool to help us work together in this program."
