What our students are saying...
James R. Galloway
"I was reluctant to take an online course. Not being in the financial planning profession, I felt that I got as much out of the in-class interaction with others as I did course material. I was concerned that without the in-class meeting, I would miss out on a significant portion of the learning experience. I questioned the reliability and effectiveness of the online education system. Finally, I did not want to see a decrease in the grades I received in online courses.
My expectations of the online program included:
Being able to learn as much as I would in a classroom
Being able to interact with others in the class as required
Having an online education system that consistently worked without IT issues
Being able to attain the same scores as in a classroom
After completing one online course, my concerns have been eliminated. The online lectures are structured so that the only difference between being in class for the lecture versus being at home is the size of the screen. The CIF ELearning Portal has worked flawlessly. Because I do not have to drive to class, I have an additional 3 hours a week that I can spend studying. The opportunity to score well is comparable in online and classroom courses. One challenge is scheduling times outside the classroom to have online discussion with other students. This is also a challenge in classroom courses.
I am happy with my online experience and plan to complete the remainder of my required courses online."
