I would turn to a "local" RIA/CFP/FInancial Advisor/etc. and ask them to mentor you while you establish yourself as a financial services professional.
Of course you can use the internet, but I think a "real person" will cut through all the chatter and get up up and running really fast. There are numerous ways to start your practice. This just happens to be my personal opinion.
