Valeria Makarova
Valeria Makarova holds education degrees in business and science: MBA with emphasis in International Business from California Lutheran University, and Ph.D. in Biology from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Russia. She has 15 years of experience in conducting scientific research in biophysics/plant physiology. Valeria held senior research position at the Department of Biophysics, MSU, Moscow, Russia; conducted research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, CO, USA; coordinated international research collaborations and held visiting positions at the universities in Europe and Asia. Valeria is involved in marketing research, consulting and education. She is working to bridge the gap between industry and academia, and help growing successful businesses by identifying, developing, securing and marketing innovative technologies. Her professional interests also include support and promotion of sustainable and socially responsible business practices. Dr. Makarova teaches marketing courses at undergraduate and graduate business administration programs at CLU.
