Department Assistantships
This competitive position is reserved for five outstanding English majors. Departmental Assistants are available to aid professors with research, to proctor exams, to assist with classroom lessons, and manage the department website. DAs create and distribute Carpe Diem, help with Literary Society and Sigma Tau Delta (the International English Honor Society), and are available to students for any additional assistance they may need for their English classes.

Hey guys, I'm Delaney (Laney)! I'm a sophomore English major...actually, I'm basically majoring in poetry and I love it! I also always love a good book and I still can't manage to get myself out of the "young adult" section at Barnes & Noble no matter how hard I try. Outside of English-y stuff, I also like to bake, watch movies, facebook (yeah, it's now a verb), and I always love to meet new people so come by and say hey. And to all you freshman out there - it can get pretty overwhelming so if you need help, stop by (or email) anytime!

Hello, I'm Courtney, a huge movie buff/fashionista/comic book nerd- hey, they're not just for kids, anymore! I love reading and writing, especially stories with psychological, noir elements. My dream job involves being paid to read, watch movies, and/or eat good food (preferably with no calories) so, please help me out. If that falls through, teaching is my back-up plan.
