Fast-Track MPPA: 4 + 1
- The MPPA degree serves those whose interests are management and policy in public and non-profit employment.
- Current undergraduate students can earn their Masters in an accelerated, fast-track mode by investing one year of additional full-time study (3 classes/term is full time at the graduate level), or working full-time and going to classes part-time within two years.
- Entrance requirements are senior status and minimum 3.0. GPA.
- Current undergraduate students would typically apply Fall semester of their senior year. Once pre-admitted to graduate study, they can enroll concurrently in one or two graduate classes in the Winter or Spring terms while finishing their undergraduate degree.
- The costs of graduate classes taken while still concurrently a CLU undergraduate in status can be included in your undergraduate tuition if you are under the 34 credits normally covered by the full academic year tuition.
- Graduate MPPA classesare offered in 11-week terms rather than the undergraduate 16-week semester length.
- After earning their Bachelor's degree in May, students would be fully admitted to graduate standing. This would allow them a head start on their Masters.
- Students attending full time (3 classes/term) can graduate in one year (starting full-time Summer term 2008, the Masters can be earned by August 2009).
- Students working full time and attending part time can spread out their studies by starting early as undergraduates and extending beyond an additional one year by taking one or two classes/term at their convenience.
- The program requires an internship and has an ending requirement which must be satisfied during their year of study.
- The ending requirement is a choice between Comprehensives Examination (given each June), or a Master's Project (such as a research project based on field survey, a case study, or public policy analysis).
