CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY
GRADUATE PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM
Dear Student:
Students have expressed an interest in recommendations for readings aimed at preparing them for practicum at the California Lutheran University Community Counseling Center, with a particular request for psychoanalytically-oriented readings.
The following is a partial list of recommended readings that is not, by all means, comprehensive. Per students’ request, the list is limited to psychoanalytic writings.
Note that the Counseling Center is implementing a new practice by which there will be a required reading for each semester of practicum:
Needless to say, you need not wait to begin reading any (or all) of the recommended readings on the list. Supervisors at the Center will be happy to discuss thoughts, questions, and/or comments that you may have in relation to these readings, and recommend other readings depending on your interests.
Happy reading,
Christopher Christian, Ph.D.
