DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

The MSCS program requires 40 semester credits which must be completed within a five-year period – Additional course work may be required for individuals whose academic records reflect the need for preparation in the computer science area. The necessity for preparation is determined during the admission interview. For students with a bachelor's degree in other disciplines, successful completion of five prerequisite undergraduate courses with B or above in each course is required before they are admitted to the MSCS program. The five prerequisite undergraduate courses are CS210 Introduction to programming, CS 340 Operating Systems, CS410 Database Management System, CS350 Data Communication & Networking, and Math 241 Discrete Math.

The degree requirement is changed effective from fall 2007. The new requirementis shown below. If you entered the program before fall 2007, you have an option of following the old requirement or adopting the new one.
