Ruth Kuo has been a Southern California resident for approximately ten years. During that period, she earned her Bachelor of Music Degree in piano performance from California State University, Northridge. While at CSUN, Ms. Kuo studied with Francoise Regnat, a graduate of the Paris Conservatory with first prizes in both piano and chamber music, an Artist Diploma from Indiana, prize winner in the Casella International Competition, winner of the Young Concert Artists Auditions in New York, and awarded the Grand Prix du Disque Franz Liszt in Budapest in 1977 for her recording of Liszt¹s complete works for piano and violin.
In addition to her work with Ms. Regnat, Ms. Kuo studied under Professors Edward Francis and Eric Kinsley. Ms. Kuo has accompanied and made recordings with various church and other choirs since her time in Southern California, some of which have been featured on numerous radio stations in her home country of Taiwan. Currently, Ms. Kuo maintains a private piano studio in the City of Thousand Oaks, and is an active member of the Music Teachers Association of California.
