The Cal Lutheran Experience

Exercise Science

In the exercise science department, I had the opportunity to be a member of a research team that studies the effects of concussion on the human body. I was able to study the neurological health data from approximately 1,000 participants! I had many hands-on experiences and felt comfortable asking for guidance from my professors at any time. The exercise science major paved the road to my dream of being accepted into a Doctor of Physical Therapy program by providing very comprehensive and competitive courses and experiences.

With a diverse classroom, not only are various perspectives shared, but my hope is that through this sharing, students can begin to recognize where they fit within the spectrum of advantages and disadvantages and use this lens to create a more equal society.

Spanish

The “El Eco” class has greatly increased my confidence in Spanish speaking and writing. After conducting interviews and writing articles, I really believed in myself and abilities. Plus, having a Spanish article that I wrote is an impressive example I can show feature employers. This class has taught me that Spanish goes way beyond the classroom.
