Borrow only what you need
Your Financial Aid Office will determine your eligibility for loans. But only YOU can determine how much money you will really need to borrow. As part of your financial aid package you will be offered a maximum amount you can borrow. This does not mean you have to accept all of the money. Refer to your Spending Plan to determine what amount will be sufficient, and make sure to indicate that revised amount when you return your award letter. If a need comes up later in the academic year you can always go back and ask to borrow some of what you originally declined.
Remember - the less you borrow now, the less you will have to repay later!
