Board Meetings Recap - Jan. 27 & Feb. 3

Senate

Jan. 27:
The following new members were appointed:

Izzy Arogundade (Sophomore Senator)
Ricky Hegner (Junior Senator)
Chelsea Gutowski (International Senator)
Anna Berg (Senate Recorder)

The following new clubs were approved:

Commuter Connection Club
Adventure Club
German Club

$28.54 was leftover from the Senate tabling event and was released into the Senate budget.
$20.32 was leftover from the Exchange for Change event and was released into the Senate budget.
An additional $2.19 was allocated towards the purchase of scantrons to be sold in the Residence Halls.

Feb. 3:
$2,000 was allocated to purchase more popular books and DVD's in the Pearson Library.
$1,380.96 was allocated to the Circle K Club.
$60 was allocated to the Adventure Club.
$800 was allocated to the Commuter Connection Club.
$3,000 was allocated to the Economics Club.
$6,550 was allocated to the Hockey Club.

Megan Callery, Morgan McVey, and Ricky Hegner are planning another Senate tabling event and are also looking into getting bigger recycling bins in Grace and Trinity Halls.

Mike Frieda is working on getting additional popular books and DVD's in the library.

Josh Wood is still working on skateboard ramps project from last semester; there seems to have been some problem, but it is almost figured out.

Joette Carini is looking into getting more magnets for recycling in other areas of campus. Dan Lacey is working on getting digital signage/marketing back on campus.

Gregg Salazar is completing the paperwork for eco-friendly water filtration systems in the Residence Halls that Senate approved to purchase last semester.

The "Bomb Squad" Committee (Committe Chair: Jasmine Waples, jwaples@callutheran.edu) just planned and executed Club Lu: Cosmic Bowling last Friday the 7th.

The "Carlos' Gems" Committee (Committee Chair: Carlos Moran, cmoran@callutheran.edu) is working on Club Lu: Pre-Valentine's Drop In. Students will be able to grab cupcakes from the flagpole. Please note that the date of the event has been changed to Thursday, February 13th.

The "Furious Flying Ferbees" Committee (Committee Chair: Laurel Skinner, lskinner@callutheran.edu) is working on Mr. Kingsmen (February 21st); this year's theme will be super hero.

The "Kuddly Koalas" Committee (Committee Chair: Ottilie Yee, oyee@callutheran.edu) is planning Club Lu: Field Day (March 7th), where students will be able to enjoy outdoor activities, food trucks (Tommy's & Chunk n' Chip), and prizes in Kingsmen Park.

Senate Meeting will take place on February 10th at 5:20 pm in Nygreen 101 (Please note that for this week only, the location of Senate meeting has been changed.); Programs Board Meeting will also take place on February 10th at 7:15 pm in Swenson 101.
