Catalina Service Trip
The Catalina Service Trip has been moved to the first weekend in March. The trip is a partnership between the CSC and Outdoor Recreation on famous Catalina Island. The trip has both outdoor recreation and service aspects intertwined throughout and offers a rare glimpse of life on Catalina in the back country, outside of Avalon. Students, faculty and staff on the trip will help the Catalina Island Conservancy remove harmful non-native plant species (Fennel) from the island, learn about island history, see native and non-native animals (Island Fox, Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Buffalo), go ocean kayaking and camp on the island with views for miles. Signups for the trip begin in February. Updates will be provided on this site in August.
