Thompson Hall, opened in 1961 as one of the first halls on campus, was originally named Beta, home to the female students of CLU for many years. In 1975, the hall was renamed for Clarence and Dagny Thompson, two of CLU's original donors and greatest supporters. Thompson Hall housed upperclassmen for most of its existence. Beginning in 2001, Thompson Hall became the only hall on campus that housed freshmen through seniors. In 2005, Thompson Hall became an all freshmen residence hall. With 34 suites, Thompson Hall became co-ed in 1977. Thompson Hall was most recently renovated in the summer of 2011.
