For Returning Students
Welcome back to CLU! Congratulations on attaining a new perspective of the world and all that you have achieved from your Study Abroad experience!
The excitement of seeing friends and family may be overshadowed by the reality of "home". For many students, returning from a study abroad experience can be more difficult that first going abroad. You may even find yourself homesick for your host country and friends.
Dr. Bruce La Brack of the University of the Pacific created a list of the Top Ten Immediate Reentry Challenges students face after returning from a semester abroad. It is a great resource to see what other students have gone through and to get ideas on how to face those challenges. You can also look at a list of re-entry strategies that may help with what you are feeling.
We truly hope that you look back on your adventure abroad as one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of your life. We look forward to seeing you soon!
