Our Middle Name

How does CLU's identity as a Lutheran university affect the student experience both inside and outside the classroom? What is unique about this kind of learning community? Lutheran is not only our middle name but it is also an important part of who we are as an academic and social community.

What does this mean at CLU?

The compass statement is an articulation for today of the Lutheran commitments that inspired the University’s founders and which continue to undergird its mission and purpose as a University of the Church.
