History
- Upward Bound was established at CLU in 1980.
- The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education UBP at CLU offers an academic year and summer residential program.
- UBP at CLU serves sixty participant during the academic year and fifty five during the summer residential component.
- UBP at CLU serves five target high schools (we are currently no longer recruiting from Camarillo): Channel Islands, Hueneme, Oxnard, Rio Mesa, and Pacifica.
- UBP at CLU participants have access to all CLU facilities, lab (computer and science), and activites.
- For the past ten years, UBP at CLU has maintained a 100% high school graduation rate for all of its participants.
- 80% of all the participants in the Upward Bound Program at CLU are retained in the program until graduation from high school.
- For the past six years, 100% of graduating seniors enter a program of post-secondary education upon the completion of UBP at CLU.
- 75% of alumni from UBP at CLU who enter a program of post-secondary education successfully complete their program, or actively pursuing graduation, within six years of the date of their enrollment.
- UBP at CLU is required by the U.S. Department of Education to track all it's alumni for six years.
