Secrets of the Exhibition: Three Decades of Display Design with William Maple

William Maple created the exhibition design firm Maple & Associates and for the past 30 years has been designing permanent and traveling exhibits throughout the United States and in countries as distant as Panama and Korea. Join us as he recounts some of his favorite exhibition projects with stunning behind-the-scenes visuals.

Maple graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a bachelor's degree in environmental design, but after taking a job at the campus art gallery, his career changed gears. Some of his favorite projects to date include The National Prisoner of War Museum in Andersonville, Georgia, The Cherokee Trails of Tears Exhibit in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and the redesign of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Museum in College Station, Texas. Locally, he has developed exhibits at Mission San Juan Capistrano and at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, where he developed the President’s centennial exhibit.

Recently, he has completed a children’s science exhibit titled My Body in Mexico City. Currently, he is overseeing the installation of an exhibit of 20th century toys and another for the 100th anniversary of The Great War, as well as other traveling exhibits. You can read an interview with Maple here.
