CLU Fall Cultural Dance Festival 2019

Experience East Indian Bharat Natyam dance with Padmini Vassan. She is an accomplished dancer in three art forms - Bharat Natyam, Mohini Attam and Kathakali. Vassan founded the Padmalaya School of Dance in Thousand Oaks 35 years ago. She teaches mostly Bharat Natyam to her students and many have completed their Arangetram. Bharat Natyam is one of the oldest dance forms of India, nurtured in the temples of southern India for thousands of years. This event includes, lecture demonstration, question and answer as well as movement participation. Free to all. This masterclass is brought to campus through The Department of Theater and Dance and an Experiential Learning Grant from the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Scholarship. No experience required. Come dressed to move!

Held in the Dance Studio of the Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center (Room 209). Please arrive by 2 p.m. Activities begin at 2:15 and conclude at 3:45
