"Black and Brown: African Americans and the Mexican Revolution"
Gerald Horne, Ph.D.
In his lecture, Dr. Gerald Horne will draw from his book Black and Brown: African Americans and the Mexican Revolution, 1910-1920. Mining a forgotten chapter in American history, he will offer insight into the past and future of race relations along the border and between African Americans and Latinos.
Dr. Horne holds the John and Rebecca Moores Chair of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston and is author of more than 17 books and 100 scholarly articles and reviews. His research has addressed issues of race in a variety of settings, including labor, politics, civil rights and war.
