Eileen Boris, Ph.D.
Dr. Eileen Boris is the author and co-author of six books and numerous articles on homework, women’s labor and feminist theory. Her book Home to Work: Motherhood and the Politics of Industrial Homework in the United States won the 1995 Philip Taft Prize in Labor History.
Professor Boris holds the Hull Endowed Chair in Women’s Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara and is currently involved in researching the carework economy. Her lecture will consider recent welfare reform in light of the history of aid to poor women and their children.
