Samuelson Aquatics Center Dedication

Samuelson Aquatics Center Dedication

The dedication event will include aquatics demonstrations and record-setting laps. Three-time Gold Medalist and Olympic Hall of Famer Rowdy Gaines, once considered “the fastest swimmer on the planet,” will serve as master of ceremonies. Gaines, who was at the peak of his career during the Olympic Boycott of 1980, went on to win three gold medals in the 1984 Olympic games in Los Angeles.

Hall of Famer John Naber, who won four gold medals and one silver medal in swimming competitions at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, will also participate in the ceremonies. Naber has worked in broadcasting and has filed reports at eight Olympic Games.

The Samuelson family, for whom the aquatics facility is named, will also be in attendance. Members of the community are invited to join CLU in celebrating the facility that now allows for collegiate competition in swimming, diving and water polo.
