El Mundo de Hoy y El Hombre (Today's World and Man)
A talk given in Spanish by visiting scholar Dr. Alvarez-Gonzalez
The Community Counseling Services at CLU and the Outreach Programs of Park Oaks Elementary School and Conejo Elementary School are proud to sponsor a talk by Dr. Francisco Alvarez-Gonzalez, a visiting philosopher from Cuencas, Ecuador.
Dr. Francisco Alvarez-Gonzalez was born in Spain in 1912. He obtained his licensure in philosophy from the University of Madrid in 1936 and a doctorate in philosophy from Cuencas, Ecuador. He is the author of more than 30 books in Spanish, including El Reto a la Mediocridad, Una Historia del Pensamiento Antiguo, El Pensamiento de Ortega y Gasset, Historia de la Filosofia, Fichte y las Raices de la Filosofía Contemporanea, Introducción a la Filosofía. He has dedicated more than half a century to higher learning.
In this talk given in Spanish, Dr. Alvarez-Gonzalez will discuss his views of the 20th century, the quality of life in comparison to other periods, and the role of “mankind."
