A Better World Starts With Us

Small Changes That Make A Big Difference

Ellis Jones, Ph.D., author of The Better World Handbook and The Better World Shopping Guide, will discuss how to be more environmentally and socially responsible. He will highlight some exciting tips from his book at this Earth Day event.

Jones has been teaching students to make a difference in the world for the past 15 years. In his early years at the University of Southern California, he volunteered weekdays to teach environmental education to local school children. After receiving his master's degree in international peace studies, he spent two years in the Peace Corps teaching Panamanian students and teachers to care for their rainforests.

Jones currently is a lecturer in sociology at University of California Davis. Since returning to university life, he has focused on bridging the gap among academics, activists and the average citizen. For nearly 10 years, he has been empowering college students in his classes to change the world by getting their hands dirty. He continues to teach and give presentations on making a difference around the country.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.
