Undergraduate Commencement

The Baccalaureate Service will be held in Samuelson Chapel at 8 a.m. followed by Undergraduate and ADEP Commencement in Mt. Clef Stadium at 10 a.m. Patricia Paulucci, philanthropist and civic leader, and William Rolland, philanthropist and founding resident of Westlake Village, will be awarded degrees during the Commencement ceremony.

Paulucci is one of Ventura County's most noted philanthropists and civic leaders. A former kindergarten teacher, she and her husband, Joe Paulucci, have owned and operated PTS Furniture in Thousand Oaks for more than 27 years.

Her commitment to helping others, especially children, led to Paulucci's involvement as a volunteer caregiver at the United Cerebral Palsy Home in Westlake Village where she served for more than two decades. Her leadership and generosity have also benefited other service and nonprofit organizations including Community Conscience and Senior Concerns.

Rolland has earned the gratitude and respect of residents in Ventura County for his generous efforts in support of people in need, especially through his 1988 creation of the William Rolland Firefighters Foundation.

As president of the foundation, Rolland has helped direct its philanthropic activities to benefit the families of firefighters injured or killed in the line of duty, to help family members of firefighters who face life-threatening medical challenges and to provide reward money for solving arson crimes that threaten the community.

Rolland served as a Los Angeles City firefighter for 17 years and then spent four decades as a developer in Ventura County. He was awarded the City of Los Angeles Fire Department's Medal of Valor and was further commended by the White House, the U.S. Senate, the State of California and the City of Los Angeles.

Departmental receptions will be held in Kingsmen Park following the ceremony.
