Robotics Competition

CLU is hosting 16 robotics teams in a FIRST LEGO League Robotics Tournament for fourth- through eighth-grade students at Soiland Recreation Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The all-day competition features LEGO Mindstorm Robotics which are built and programmed by students.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Its LEGO League program challenges 9- to 14-year-old students to build LEGO-based robots to complete a specific task.

The public is invited to watch the competition, which should be loud, noisy and fun!
