Silver Anniversary Distinguished Speaker Series
"Talents: Competing for the Future" Markus Tomaschitz, Managing Director, Magna Education & Research at Magna International
Since 2008
there has been a massive shift in the way businesses operate in relation to
success or failure. Performance and leadership decisions are being influenced
by ambiguity and anxiety, which negatively affect a company's long-term
success. How do we put an end to poor business practices and implement
healthier practices into today's business world?
Markus Alexander Tomaschitz will discuss how building relationships between
companies and universities is the key to the future success of businesses. Tomaschitz is executive director of Magna Education &
Research, a division of Magna International Europe AG, the world's largest
automotive supply company. He lectures and writes on management, leadership,
entrepreneurship, education and human resource management, and serves as an
advisor to Austrian federal and state governments on education and research.
Tomaschitz holds a doctorate in organization and human
resource management from Karl-Franzens-University's Institute for Human
Resource Management in Graz, Austria, an Austrian master's degree and doctorate
in social economics and business administration, and an MBA from California
State University, Hayward.
