Careers in STEM Speaker Panel

From 5 to 7 p.m., learn about STEM careers from leaders in their fields. Bring a few resumes if you are interested in working at the represented organizations. There will be time to talk with panelists.

Anita Sengupta has been developing entry and propulsion systems for Mars, Venus and deep space missions for the past decade. She is currently a flight systems engineer on the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter mission, leading the systems development of a Mars Ascent Vehicle and principal investigator for the Orion Vehicle Drogue Parachute Subscale Test Program.

As chief scientist for the nation's largest urban national park, the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, Christy Brigham oversees a wide range of science activities from wildlife tracking, trapping and ecology to lichen inventories. She has a Ph.D. in ecology and has been the area scientist for the past nine years.

Carlyn Maw's Crash Space is a hackerspace in LA, and is part of the growing global hackerspace movement. Hackerspaces are community-operated physical places, where people can meet and work on their projects. Crash Space is a collection of hackers, programmers, builders, makers, artists and people who generally like to break things and see what new things they can build with the pieces.

Pat Jacobs is an executive recruiter focusing on the biotech and bioengineering industries.

Location: California Lutheran University, Lundring Events Center. Lundring Events Center is located in the Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center, which is north of Olsen Road between Campus Drive and Mountclef Boulevard on the CLU campus.
