Le Havre

Francophone Film Festival

In this warmhearted portrait of the French harbor city, fate throws young African refugee Idrissa (Blondin Miguel) into the path of well-spoken bohemian Marcel Marx (André Wilms). With the unwavering support of his community, Marcel stands up to officials pursuing the boy for deportation. Somewhere between the reality of contemporary France and the classic cinema of Jean-Pierre Melville and Marcel Carné, Le Havre is a charming, deadpan delight. (93 min.)

The CLU Fall 2012 Francophone Film Festival is made possible with a grant from the Community Leaders Association. All films are subtitled in English. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
