Ninth Annual Student Research Symposium

CLU is dedicated to mentoring undergraduates in the scholarly processes of all disciplines across campus. Since 2004, the CLU Student Research Symposium has showcased the work of top students, many of whom have spent the summer working full time on their projects in collaboration with faculty mentors.

This year more than 25 students, including recipients of Swenson Summer Research Fellowships, Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships, Pearson Scholars Summer Fellowships, Darling Summer Research Fellowships and support from the Overton Summer Research Program in Economics, will present their work.

Six students will give brief oral presentations in the Ahmanson Science Center's Richter Hall from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by interactive poster presentations and refreshments in the Atrium from 10:30 to noon.

Disciplines will include art, biology, bioengineering and applied physics, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, economics, English, exercise science, global studies, mathematics, psychology and religion.

Original results shared at this venue are often presented at discipline-specific professional conferences throughout the region or country and may be accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals as well.

Admission is free and members of the community are welcome.
