Organist Shelly Moorman-Stahlman in concert

As both an organist and pianist, Shelly Moorman-Stahlman has garnered an impressive array of competition credits including Semifinalist at the St. Albans International Organ Competition in England, Audience Prize at the Spivey International Competition, Finalist in the Arthur Poister Competition, Second Prize in the MTNA National Wurlitzer Competition and Finalist in the Region VI AGO Competition.

She has received outstanding reviews as a featured artist at major venues in Washington, D.C., New York City and across the Midwest. Most recently she has presented organ recitals at the Region III American Guild of Organists Convention, Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, University of Arizona, Tucson, Community of Christ Temple in Kansas City, and Christ the King Cathedral in Atlanta.

Moorman-Stahlman is professor of music at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., where she teaches organ, piano, class piano and church music courses. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in music from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and the Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Iowa.

She has studied organ with Delbert Disselhorst, Delores Bruch, John Ditto and Harald Vogel and piano with Ruth Slenczynksa, Santiago Rodriguez and John McIntyre. She has served on the American Guild of Organists National Committee on Professional Education and has taught at many Pipe Organ Encounters.

Admission is free. This is the opening concert of the 2012-2013 Orvil and Gloria Franzen Organ Program Series.
