Thousand Oaks Reads: One City, One Book

A panel discussion on "The Art of Fielding" by Chad Harbach

Thousand Oaks Reads: One City, One Book

LA Dodger greats Steve Garvey and Steve Yeager join CLU President Chris Kimball and two professors of psychology, Morris N. Eagle and Mindy Puopolo, on a panel to explore the themes of Chad Harbach’s debut novel, The Art of Fielding.

In the novel, Harbach takes us to Wisconsin and the Westish College baseball team, where his characters play the game with passion and focus. And while baseball matters, so, too, does the unquenchable desire to nurture friendships, feel camaraderie and love, understand betrayal and victory, and face destiny.

Thousand Oaks Reads: One City, One Book is an annual citywide literary event that encourages members of the community to read the same book and then join in lively discussions at events centered on the book throughout the city.

Admission is free. Sponsored by California Lutheran University and the Thousand Oaks Library.
