Founders Day Convocation

Founders Day is held annually to celebrate CLU’s roots in the Lutheran tradition of Christian faith and affirm its commitment to helping students discover and live their purpose.

This year’s theme is "Vocation...rooted in community," and the keynote speaker is the Rev. Meghan (Johnston ’01) Aelabouni, co-pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, Colo. Her text is John 15, "I am the vine."

Aelabouni holds a bachelor’s degree in religion and English from CLU and a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. In addition to serving as pastor to congregations in the Chicago area, she has been active in the Lutheran World Federation and has written for The Lutheran magazine, Gather magazine and The Huffington Post.

Admission is free.
