Areté Vocal Ensemble

Hymnody of Earth

Areté Vocal Ensemble

Areté returns to the stage to celebrate its fifth season, which promises to be the most interesting and eclectic yet. The innovative professional ensemble of vocal artists joins forces with the Los Robles Children’s Choir, directed by Edward Rouse, for its season-opening concert.

This concert features a performance of Malcolm Dalglish’s composition Hymnody of Earth for voices, hammer dulcimer and percussion. The music is based on the poetry of Kentucky author Wendell Berry, whose work addresses the importance of community, conservation and common sense.

With uncompromising attention to musical detail and a passion for live performance, Areté provides a joyful, moving, educational and soul-nurturing experience.

Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 if purchased online in advance. Student tickets are $10 at the door with ID. Children under 12 are free. For information or to purchase tickets, visit www.aretevocalensemble.org.
