First-Year Experience

Come along as first-year undergraduates at Cal Lutheran reach the culmination of a shared learning experience, and enjoy a special presentation by author and environmentalist Reese Halter.

Halter is the author of nine acclaimed books including Wild Weather: The Truth about Global Warming; Shepherding the Seas: The Race to Save Our Oceans; and The Incomparable Honeybee and the Economics of Pollination. Halter has a lifelong passion for the environment and natural ecosystems, and he has dedicated his career to the protection of the natural world. He is a powerful voice for bees, trees, seas and saving nature now. Halter is a distinguished biologist with a Ph.D. in Earth life support systems and an award-winning broadcaster and writer.

Halter has a unique talent for making complex environmental issues compelling to any audience. He believes that human beings are exquisite problem-solvers and that for every issue there are at least three solutions. You can listen to his podcast at EarthcastSOS.com.
