Shakespeare: A Celebration

In collaboration with Bankside Gallery, the Kwan Fong Gallery of Art and Culture proudly presents an exhibition celebrating William Shakespeare’s life and legacy. Artists from the British Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers will show an exciting and diverse range of works, inspired by Shakespeare’s writings.

Some images relate to the life and times of Shakespeare while others reference imagery from his work, including such classics as Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, Twelfth Night, The Tempest, The Winter’s TaleAntony and Cleopatra and more. An initial version of this exhibition first took place in July 2016 at Bankside Gallery, London, to mark the 400th anniversary of the writer’s death.

Artists include Hilary Adair, Jim Anderson, Margaret Ashman, Mychael Barratt, Jo Barry, Richard Bawden, June Berry, Dennis Roxby Bott, David Brayne, Liz Butler, Corinna Button, John Crossley, Hilary Daltry, Anne Desmet, John Duffin, David Firmstone, Veta Gorner, Roger Harris, Julie Held, Frank Kiely, Anita Klein, Linda Landers, Sasa Marinkov, Anne Marlow, Mike Middleton, Julia Midgley, Bridget Moore, Sumi Perera, Simon Pierse, Richard Pikesley, Geoffrey Pimlott, Neil Pittaway, Trevor Price, Peter Quinn, Mark Raggett, Denis Ryan, Peter S.
