Founders Day Convocation

Founders Day Convocation

Each fall the university community, alumni and friends celebrate the founding of Cal Lutheran at this festive gathering. Under a theme of “Reforming the Heart, Reforming the World,” this year’s program includes the formal installation and blessing of university governing bodies and student government, and the presentation of the Christus Award recognizing significant individual contributions to higher education in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The 2017 recipient is the Rev. Frank Nausin, a 1970 graduate of California Lutheran College and 1974 graduate of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, a longtime pastor to congregations in Arizona and California, former chair of the university’s governing Convocation and a current member of the Board of Regents.

Admission is free. The Founders Day Convocation will be streamed at CalLutheran.edu/live.
