World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day

Part of Ventura County’s annual observance of World AIDS Day, this three-part program invites everyone to consider HIV/AIDS not just as a medical issue, but as a social justice issue.

Join us first for HIV/AIDS 101, a sexual health education session from 2:15–3:15 p.m. Then stay for the Positively Speaking panel of local residents living with HIV/AIDS from 3:20–5 p.m. The event concludes with a nondenominational vigil beginning at 5 p.m. The vigil is an act of commitment: to stand with others in loss, against injustice, and connected in hope.

Admission is free. Sponsored by the Sarah W. Heath Center for Equality and Justice, Sociology Department, Religion Department, HIV/AIDS Coalition of Ventura County, Ventura County Public Health and Planned Parenthood California Central Coast.
