Art in a Time of Reformation: Works from the Rodolfo Sanzana Collection

To coincide with the 500 year-anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, the William Rolland Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition from the collection of Chilean-born art collector Rodolfo Sanzana.

Consisting of paintings, sculpture, and material culture, the works tell a story of life and art during the period before, during, and after Martin Luther nailed his famed 95 theses to the door of Wittenberg Castle Church in 1517. Visitors can expect to see works, most dating from the mid-16th century, produced by these artists or their followers: Lucas Cranach the Elder, Rogier van der Weyden, Christoff Jacobsz van der Lamen, Hendrick van Cleve III, Marinus van Reymerswaele, Abraham Bloemaert, Sebastiano Ricci, Sebastian Vrancx, Mattäus Merian der Ältere, Johann Baptist Homann, and more.
