Founders Day Concert

The University Symphony will celebrate the 250th birth year of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in a performance of his Piano Concerto No. 21, K. 467 “Elvira Madigan” with faculty pianist Dorothy Schechter. Also featured will be the overture from Mozart’s opera The Abduction from the Seraglio, K. 384. Daniel Geeting conducts.

Following intermission and in keeping with tradition, the CLU Choral Ensembles will perform an eclectic program of exciting and unusual works. Featured composers include Urmas Sisask (Estonia), Michael Torke, Steven Stucky and Philip Glass (United States), Algirdas Martinaitis (Lithuania) and György Ligeti (Hungary). Wyant Morton conducts.

A freewill offering will be accepted.
