Las Posadas/Living Nativity
Each year CLU students and the community come together to reenact Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter and a place for the birth of baby Jesus. Join us in this festive Mexican tradition that dates back to the 16th century as we travel with candles in hand from the Pavilion and through the residence halls where Mary and Joseph will knock on doors requesting lodging for the night. The procession will end at Samuelson Chapel with a Living Nativity scene accompanied by the reading of the Christmas story and the singing of Christmas Carols. The evening will conclude with a piñata and refreshments of Mexican hot chocolate and pan dulce (sweet breads).
Admission is free.
